Our wild and sacred love

Rev. Jeffrey Symynkywicz, November 1, 2009

It is unity we seek, of course:
of part with part, and soul with soul;
all Being coalescing about the Source;
all separateness at last becoming whole.

A unity of dark and light, day and night;
all with all sweeping through the age;
beckoning each holy moment, each precious strand,
to join the indestructible, immortal garment of Life.

Each strand is brilliant, cherished in its color;
its form unrepeatable, unique in all the world.
Yet more precious still, and even yet more dear
is the Holy Body, the Sacred All, the Source that holds us near.

Each being is a sister, a brother, friend, and lover:
truly an aspect of our very self! We are they and they we;
their faces reflected in ours, and in our history;
all past and future pulses within us in this living moment.

If we view our existence in this universal manner,
then our hearts open in compassion to the unity of all.
Then nothing can be foreign,; we are forever at home,
joined with all the world’s beings in our wild and sacred love.
