The peace within

There have been those times
when we have been all of a piece
and all at peace;
they abide within us still.

There are within us, forever,
those deep moments of joy,
wellsprings of bliss,
ours to remember and reclaim,
ours for the taking

any moment of our lives.

When we summon them up,
and ask them to join us here
in this moment we share,
then the world is transformed
before our very eyes.

There is a deep and profound quiet
at the heart of your existence;
go there when noise from outside yourself
threatens to overwhelm you.

There is a great and intense peace
at the foundation of your soul;
go there when the conflicts of the world
seek to entrap you in their snare.

There is more power in us than we realize,
a greatness we do not often comprehend.
Feel the stillness of the air around you,
the quietness over all;
feel the peace in your soul,
and let it hold you forever
in its everlasting arms,
forever, in this instant.

That peace is where we are right now,
not off somewhere in a tumultuous crowd.
The Spirit drifts in, quiet as the lightest breeze,
refreshing as the dewfall,
and finds a hallowed place
deep inside your soul.

Let love reign,
and that will be enough.

Let hope guide you,
and you will find a way.

Open your heart
to the faith of an adored child,
and you will be amazed
at how glorious and blessed with peace
this amazing world can be.
