A love in us so strong

There is a love in us so strong

that it can move mountains

and abide still

when all the things of this world pass away.

There is a love in us so deep

that it can bind the broken

and refuse to die

in spite of pain and suffering, hatred and strife.

There is a love in us so pure

that it can banish all evil

and smile yet

even in the face of the terrors of this life.

There is within us that eternal child

blessed and free, green and refulgent;

a love within which craves the spirit of life

and always has eyes locked on new tomorrows.
